USING A FIBERGLASS INSULATED SEEDLING TRANSPORT (FIST) FOR THE BEST SEEDLING CARE

Transporting seedlings exposes them to all kinds of potential shocks which can cause a lot of damage. Many growers work hard to get their seedlings to be strong, but they also start early in greenhouses, or even grow all year round. They then need a way to safely transport those seedlings to nurseries, shops, buyers, or into the wilderness for planting, without losing a significant proportion of baby plants or trees. Fiberglass Insulated Seedling Transport (FIST) systems were designed with this specific need in mind.

Temperature Control

The FIST is an industrial truck canopy insert which is ideal for the transportation of seedlings in all weather. During cold months, the interior is temperature and humidity controlled in order to keep things comfortable. And during hot months, the Flettner roof rent allows excess heat and humidity to escape. The entire insert is insulated to maintain a more constant temperature inside.

A Convenient Space for Everything

Besides ample space for seedlings – as many as 20,000 boxed seedlings – the FIST also has areas where equipment and supplies can be stored safely. The seedling shelves are easily adjustable so that space can be made for other supplies. And rubber floor mats make movement inside the FIST safe.

Lightweight, Removable, Insertable

In addition, the FIST is not a heavy-weight, one-time truck canopy insert. Its mounting system is simple and can be used on full-sized pick-ups. But it can also be dismounted and placed on a trailer or lifted via helicopter, as they have been used countless times for tree plantings in remote areas.
